I make art because i'm an emotional creature filled with images, ideas, and opinions which I fill compiled to paint onto a surface. I may scrub, sand, and fill with texture while having images that are very expressive and at other times realistic. I don't limit myself to one subject matter because when I create a series, I have a reason for exploring the theme for a period which may lead me to develop ideas for another series. However, my work usually deals with my relationship with society through a mixture of sometimes horrific and other times brightly colored scenes and objects like gasmasks, skulls, landscapes and myself. It's a way for me to balance the noise within both my heart and mind when dealing with exterior forces beyond my control.
I received my B.F.A. and M.A. in Studio Art from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La in 2007 and 2009.
I taught studio classes at LSMSA from 2009-2016 and with BPCC from 2010-2016.
I currently am working as a full time artist in Northeast Louisiana.
